Baptis\u00e9e \u00e0\u00a0la Ren\u00e9 Magritte, This Is Not Clothing est une marque haut de gamme \u00e0 la crois\u00e9e de la mode et d’un mouvement d’art consum\u00e9riste. Si ce n’est pas du v\u00eatement, c’est de l’art – ou \u00e0 tout le moins du v\u00eatement vecteur d’art. Originaire de Coventry, Jam Sutton est un artiste qui aime r\u00e9inventer les chefs-d\u2019\u0153uvre de la statuaire et de la peinture classiques dans une vision consum\u00e9riste toute moderne. Largement inspir\u00e9e par les statues du Parth\u00e9non repr\u00e9sentant la bataille mythique entre Lapithes et Centaures, la Collection III<\/em> modernise ces sc\u00e8nes et donne \u00e0 voir une \u00e9meute entre policiers et manifestants, toujours dans une esth\u00e9tique antique. Ses sculptures digitales sont r\u00e9alis\u00e9es par des scanners 3D d’apr\u00e8s nature, puis ensuite imprim\u00e9es sur des v\u00eatements en coton issus du commerce \u00e9quitable.<\/p>\n

Jam Sutton collabore avec le monde de la musique : Pharrell Willians & N.E.R.D, Steve Aoki, Kid Cudi, Travis Barker… Il a dirig\u00e9 le clip vid\u00e9o Yung Rapunxel<\/em> d’Azealia Banks, o\u00f9 l’on retrouve notamment la lutte entre forces de l’ordre et manifestants, ainsi qu’une noirceur apocalyptique. C’est\u00a0par ce biais\u00a0qu’il rencontre Patricia Kouto, juriste sp\u00e9cialiste des droits d’auteur, qui le conseille et fait de This Is Not Clothing une marque fran\u00e7aise.<\/p>\n

Une application smartphone permet de visualiser en 3D la sculpture que l’on porte. La sensation de mouvement qui se d\u00e9gage des pi\u00e8ces, confirme le nom de cette griffe : This Is Not Clothing ne fait pas uniquement des v\u00eatements, il s’agit d\u2019\u0153uvres sculpturales qui op\u00e8rent un glissement entre l’antiquit\u00e9 et notre soci\u00e9t\u00e9 actuelle. L’homme v\u00eatu de ces pi\u00e8ces ne porte pas seulement le mythe, il le renouvelle.<\/p>\n
